Ghostbusters
In Ghostbusters: Afterlife – Beyond the Veil, the legacy of the Ghostbusters continues with Egon Spengler’s grandchildren, Phoebe (Mckenna Grace) and Trevor (Finn Wolfhard), taking up the proton packs once more. Now back in Summerville, Oklahoma, the two siblings have established their own ghostbusting base with the help of their family and some guidance from Dr. Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd). However, their relatively quiet routine is interrupted when supernatural disturbances begin sweeping across the town—disturbances that seem to originate from a hidden dimension known as “The Veil.”
The Veil is a place where lost souls and powerful spectral forces are trapped, and it’s threatening to merge with the physical world, potentially unleashing the spirit realm into reality. Phoebe, now a budding scientist herself, uncovers her grandfather Egon’s final research notes that point to an ancient portal beneath Summerville, suggesting that the town’s connection to the supernatural is far deeper—and darker—than they ever imagined. To prevent chaos from spilling over, the young team must seal the portal once and for all.
Alongside them are familiar faces, including Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson), who joins as their mentor, and a surprising new ally in the form of Lucky (Celeste O’Connor), who discovers latent ghostbusting abilities. Together, they face a powerful entity known as “The Shadow,” a vengeful spirit who once tried to conquer the world and now sees the Veil as an opportunity to complete the task.
Beyond the Veil offers fans the thrills and laughs of classic ghostbusting action, with new gadgets, intense chases, and surprising connections to the original Ghostbusters team. As Phoebe and Trevor dig into the secrets of the past, they not only honor Egon’s legacy but also realize that some spirits never truly rest.
