The Assassin’s Creed movie (2016) follows Callum Lynch, a convict who is rescued from death by a mysterious organization known as the Abstergo Foundation.

He discovers that his ancestors were part of an ancient order of Assassins who fought against the Templar Knights for centuries. Through a revolutionary technology called the “Animus,” Callum is able to relive the memories of his ancestor, Aguilar, a 15th-century Assassin in Spain.

As he experiences the past, Callum gains the skills and training of an Assassin, preparing him to take on the Templars in the present day.
