Trailer:
All the Money in the World (2017) is a tense crime thriller based on the true story of the 1973 kidnapping of John Paul Getty III, the grandson of billionaire oil tycoon J. Paul Getty.
When the young Getty is abducted in Italy, his mother, Gail Harris, desperately pleads with his grandfather for the ransom money. However, Getty, obsessed with his vast wealth, refuses to pay, believing it would encourage further kidnappings.
As the family navigates a complex web of negotiation, deceit, and power, Gail teams up with former CIA operative Fletcher Chase, played by Mark Wahlberg, to rescue her son.
The film explores themes of greed, family dynamics, and the value of money over human life, with Michelle Williams delivering a powerful performance as a mother fighting against a cold, calculating patriarch, portrayed by Christopher Plummer, who famously replaced Kevin Spacey in the role just weeks before the film’s release.
