Supergirl (TV Series 2015–2021)

Trailer:

Set in the ever-expanding DC Universe, Supergirl follows the journey of Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), the cousin of Superman, who was sent from the dying planet Krypton to protect her baby cousin, Kal-El. However, a mishap in space causes her pod to be trapped in the Phantom Zone, delaying her arrival on Earth by decades. By the time she finally reaches her destination, Kal-El has already grown into the legendary Superman, leaving Kara to find her own purpose in a world where her cousin has become the ultimate hero.

Initially choosing to live a normal life under the identity of Kara Danvers, an assistant at CatCo Worldwide Media, she struggles with hiding her true potential. But when a catastrophic event forces her to embrace her Kryptonian abilities, Kara steps into the limelight as National City’s protector—Supergirl. Balancing her human life with her superhero duties, she fights formidable foes, including rogue aliens, high-tech villains, and powerful meta-humans, all while working alongside the DEO (Department of Extranormal Operations), led by J’onn J’onzz (David Harewood), and her adoptive sister, Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh).

As Supergirl, Kara faces enemies like the deadly Worldkiller Reign, the calculating Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer), and the manipulative Leviathan organization. But her biggest battles aren’t just against physical threats—they’re about self-acceptance, forging her own legacy beyond Superman’s shadow, and standing as a symbol of hope in an often chaotic world.

Over six seasons, Supergirl evolves from an origin story into an epic tale of heroism, sacrifice, and resilience. With heartwarming friendships, thrilling action, and powerful themes of inclusivity and empowerment, the series redefines what it truly means to be a hero.
