Silent Zone (2025)

Silent Zone dives headfirst into a post-apocalyptic zombie wasteland, delivering a gritty, action-packed horror thriller. Directed by Peter Deak, the film follows young Abigail (Luca Papp) and her protector Cassius (Matt Devere) as they navigate a world overrun by ferocious “ferals.” After a harrowing outbreak leaves Abigail orphaned, Cassius becomes her guardian, leading them toward the rumored safe haven, “The Colony.” Their journey, joined by a pregnant couple, tests loyalty and survival instincts amidst relentless danger. The Hungarian backdrop adds eerie authenticity.

The film shines with intense action sequences and strong chemistry between Papp and Devere, grounding the chaos with emotional depth. Clever twists keep you guessing, and the cinematography captures a haunting, desolate vibe. However, uneven pacing and familiar tropes—like a mad scientist subplot—hold it back from greatness. The score can feel heavy-handed, occasionally overpowering quieter moments.

For zombie genre fans, Silent Zone is a thrilling, if flawed, ride. Its raw energy and heartfelt performances make it a compelling watch you shouldn’t miss.
