Prison Break is an American television series created by Paul Scheuring for Fox, which first premiered in 2005. The show revolves around Michael Scofield (played by Wentworth Miller), a brilliant structural engineer, and his desperate plan to break his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), out of prison. Lincoln is on death row for a crime he did not commit—allegedly murdering the brother of the Vice President of the United States.

Michael, believing in Lincoln’s innocence, intentionally gets himself incarcerated by staging a bank robbery, so he can break his brother out from the inside. Equipped with detailed knowledge of the prison’s blueprints—hidden in the form of elaborate tattoos covering his body—Michael faces the challenge of executing the plan amidst a dangerous environment filled with hardened criminals and corrupt officials.

The series is known for its suspenseful storytelling, clever escape plans, and constant twists, as Michael and his crew battle both external threats and the ticking clock to save Lincoln. As the seasons progress, Prison Break expands its scope beyond the initial escape, diving into conspiracy theories, government cover-ups, and even more thrilling breakouts.

The show became a cult hit and remains beloved for its intense action, brotherly bond, and intricate plotting.
