Cobra (1986)
Cobra (1986) is a gritty action thriller directed by George P. Cosmatos, starring Sylvester Stallone as the titular character, a tough, no-nonsense cop who takes on a violent crime wave.
The film is based on the novel Fair Game by Paula Gosling, and Stallone, fresh off the success of the Rocky and Rambo franchises, wrote the screenplay. The movie is emblematic of 1980s action films, filled with intense action sequences, a brooding anti-hero, and plenty of over-the-top violence.
Marion “Cobra” Cobretti (Sylvester Stallone) is a member of the Zombie Squad, a special unit of the LAPD that handles the most dangerous and violent criminals. Known for his unconventional and often brutal methods, Cobra is called in when a serial killer, nicknamed The Night Slasher, and a gang of violent criminals known as The New World terrorize the city with a series of brutal murders. 
The Night Slasher’s next target is Ingrid Knudsen (Brigitte Nielsen), a model who unwittingly witnesses one of the gang’s murders. Realizing that she is in danger, Cobra is assigned to protect her while trying to bring the killers to justice. As Cobra and Ingrid are pursued by the ruthless gang, the situation escalates into a deadly cat-and-mouse game. 
The New World, led by the sadistic and psychopathic Night Slasher (Brian Thompson), believe in creating a new world order through chaos and destruction. They see murder as a way to cleanse society. Cobra must rely on his instincts and extreme tactics to protect Ingrid and stop the gang from completing their deadly plans. The film builds to a violent showdown between Cobra and the Night Slasher, where only one can survive.
