Set in a desolate, crumbling New York City, Dead City follows two iconic characters from The Walking Dead universe—Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan)—as they navigate a new chapter of survival in the heart of a once-great metropolis. The setting is a dramatic change from the rural environments of the original series, with the urban decay of Manhattan serving as a labyrinth of danger, filled with not only hordes of the undead but also desperate survivors and new, unpredictable threats.
The show explores how the city, now overrun by walkers and lawlessness, has turned into a chaotic battleground, where every corner holds potential death or betrayal. Maggie and Negan, two characters with a fraught and violent history, are forced to team up, driven by their need to protect their loved ones and survive in a city where the rules have changed.

Maggie and Negan’s uneasy alliance is a focal point, as Maggie still holds deep resentment for Negan’s brutal past actions, including the murder of her husband, Glenn. Their relationship will be tested as they must trust each other to survive.
