Trailer:
“28 Years Later” (2025) is a gripping post-apocalyptic horror film that continues the saga of the Rage virus outbreak, nearly three decades after the events of “28 Days Later” and “28 Weeks Later.” Directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland, the film explores a world where survivors have adapted to life amidst the infected.
The story centers on a group of survivors residing on a small island connected to the mainland by a heavily fortified causeway. When a father and his son venture into the mainland, they uncover secrets, wonders, and horrors that have evolved over the years, affecting both the infected and the remaining human communities.
The cast includes Jodie Comer as Isla, a pregnant woman living with her husband Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and their son Spike (Alfie Williams) in a community on the tidal island of Lindisfarne. Ralph Fiennes portrays Dr. Kelson, a survivor of the outbreak, while Jack O’Connell plays Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal, a cult leader with a dark past.
“28 Years Later” delves into themes of survival, the human condition, and the moral complexities faced by those striving to maintain their humanity in a world overrun by chaos. The film is set to be released in theaters on June 20, 2025, and marks the beginning of a new trilogy in the franchise.
